Everybody, at some point, in their life has a dream or goal that consumes their heart, but too many people become disenchanted by life and lose faith in their dreams.
I am blessed to have a father who showed me that I can achieve wonders when I put my mind to it, and I will do everything I can to ensure Sofia and Leonardo learn this as well.
#2 Don’t Worry About What Others May Think
Racial discrimination is at the front of public discourse right now, leading many people to reevaluate their perceptions and show moral courage by having tough conversations with those around them.
It’s easy to be brave when you’re part of the majority, but true courage comes from stepping out from the crowd for what you believe is right. I will teach my children to have confidence and believe in themselves so that they feel empowered to raise their voices for a cause they believe in.
#3 I Will Always Be Here for You
As a parent, you want to raise your children to be confident, and have faith in themselves, but sometimes the greatest strength doesn’t come from hard work or intelligence, but the knowledge that somewhere in the world is someone who loves you.
I can’t stress how powerful it feels to have your family in your corner wherever you go in life, and that is something I want my children to carry in their hearts always.
